Actor George Clooney was arrested outside the Sudanese embassy this morning and CNN caught the arrest live (Video via TPM):
Clooney was in Washington to draw awareness to the crisis in Sudan, testify before Congress, and attend the official dinner honoring U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron. Clooney has also been making the interview rounds, talking to a number of news outlets. TVNewser has learned that this weekend the actor will be appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” a big deal considering it will be his first visit to Fox News since 2006.
Clooney may be in jail at the moment, but the interview was pre-taped, so it will not affect that appearance. Clooney was interviewed by Chris Wallace, although Bret Baier will be guest-hosting “Fox News Sunday.”
MSNBC also shared video from Clooney’s arrest, and for a brief period of time had an unfortunate typo in the chyron, misspelling Clooney’s last name as “Glooney”:
The typo was fixed pretty quickly.
