‘GMA’ Partnering with Ark Music Factory (Of Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ Fame) to Find The Next Rebecca Black

Have you heard of Ark Music Factory? They are probably best known as the company that wrote and produced the music video for the YouTube smash hit “Friday” by Rebecca Black. Black’s mother paid Ark $4,000 to produce the video starring her daughter, and the “rapper” in the video is Ark co-founder Patrice Wilson.

Now ABC’s “Good Morning America” is partnering with Ark to discover the next, well, Rebecca Black.

In a weeklong programming stunt called “One Week to Hit it Big: Pop Star,” the show will select an ordinary teenage girl, and will attempt to turn her into an overnight sensation. The chosen girl was revealed this morning:


The video will be shot Today and Wednesday, with the final product revealed Thursday. Apparently the producers could not be bothered to wait until Friday, Friday.
