The top producer overseeing the 10am hour of the Today show, Brian Balthazar is leaving the show and NBC News. Balthazar, a longtime producer at MSNBC and, later NBC is taking a job with HGTV to be a director of Original Programming. HGTV is headquartered in Knoxville, TN, but Balthazar will continue to be based in New York.

Balthazar is the second Today show senior producer to depart this summer. The 7am producer, Noah Oppenheim took a job with LA-based Reveille Entertainment in June.
