Saddam: CNN First With Execution, Citing Al Hurra; FNC & MSNBC Follow
All of the cable nets ran with the Saddam Hussein execution news based on translated reports from Arab media outlets. CNN was two minutes ahead of FNC...CNN, 10:06pm: Aneesh Raman: "Al Hurra television in Iraqi is now reporting that the execution of Saddam Hussein was carried out ten minutes ago."
FNC, 10:08pm: David Mac Dougall: "Al Arabiya television reporting, Saddam Hussein is dead."
MSNBC, 10:09pm: Jim Maceda: "Al Arabiya television is confirming now, it's a single-source confirmation, that Saddam Hussein is dead."
