Jon Stewart on Rick Sanchez: ‘Flawed but fascinating to watch’
Jon Stewart had to wait three full days — decades in TV news time — to fully discuss Rick Sanchez‘s dismissal last week and his thoughts on Sanchez calling Stewart a “bigot.”
“It’s one of those days I’m thinking, ‘why don’t we tape on Friday?,’” said Stewart on “The Daily Show” last night. Summing it up, Stewart said, “I think the guy’s probably got a good heart. Perhaps even CNN will now be looking to use his vacated timeslot to get in touch with their better Sanchez … by putting on quality news and discussion.” He then played clips from “Parker-Spitzer.”
