‘Katie’ Sets Premiere Date, Unveils New Logo
Former CBS and NBC anchor Katie Couric has a launch date for her eponymous talk show. “Katie” will launch in 94% of local markets on Monday September 10, 2012. Along with the premiere date, ABC also unveiled a new logo for the program (pictured right).
“Katie” EP and former NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker made the announcements in a webcast to affiliates that have picked up the program.
“Katie and I are thrilled to share these updates with our partners and Katie’s fans,” Zucker said. “We now have our studio, a great-looking logo that exudes all of the qualities that we want the show to convey, and a terrific team with a diverse background of experience. We couldn’t be more excited about September 10. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Zucker also made official the addition of Kathy Samuels as co-EP, and announced that Joe Terry, who had been the director for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” for 14 years, would join as director.
