Larry King: CNN ‘Oversold’ Piers Morgan
InĀ an interview with the BBC, former CNN host Larry King was asked about his thoughts on his replacement, Piers Morgan (fast forward to about 3/4 of the way through to hear the Morgan comments).
As in the past, King was complimentary, saying that Morgan is a “fine broadcaster,” but this time, he added some additional thoughts:
“One of the problems [CNN] did was oversell it, he was going to be dangerous, he was going to be water-cooler talk, wait till you see me! He is good, but he is not that dangerous.”
Reuters ties the interview to Morgan’s ratings, which started off strong, and had some good showings during the crisis in Egypt, but have tapered off as the guests have become decidedly less high-profile in recent days.
