Media Execs Crack Forbes ’400 Richest’ List

Forbes released its annual list of the 400 richest Americans, and a number of media power players made the cut.

Finishing toward the top of the list:

New York City Mayor and Bloomberg LP founder Michael Bloomberg came in at number 12 with a net worth of approximately $19.5 billion, Anne Cox Chambers, who is the primary owner of Cox Enterprises (including Cox Communications) placed 26th with $12 billion. News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch placed 37th with $7.4 billion.

Farther down:

Jim Kennedy (another Cox family member) placed 53rd with $6 billion. Cable pioneer John Malone placed 69th with $4.5 billion. Oprah Winfrey placed 139th with $2.7 billion, while Cablevision founder Charles Dolan was at 150th, with $2.6 billion.
