Michael Ware Leaves CNN
CNN correspondent Michael Ware has left the network, a CNN spokesperson tells TVNewser. Ware has been absent from CNN for a year or so, though at the time the network said he was going on a leave of absence to write a book.
The news was first reported by All Things CNN, which adds that Ware is currently working on a new project.
Ware was said to be dealing with PTSD, following his years of reporting abroad, particularly in dangerous places like Iraq and Afghanistan.
He moved to New York in 2009, telling TVNewser’s Gail Shister:
“My body still feels like it’s constantly dodging bullets,” says Ware, who lives in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg section.
“Crowds can feel threatening. When I open a window, I’m looking for snipers. If somebody cuts me off in traffic, it could be the beginning of a kidnapping.”
