MSNBC is taking its show(s) on the road this week and next, to North Carolina and Detroit, Michigan.
Tonight, “The Rachel Maddow Show” will air live from Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The entire hour will be dedicated to the voting revisions that North Carolina made law last week, and how they affect African Americans and low-income voters. The field episode is also significant because Maddow is not usually keen on taking her show on the road. During the 2012 conventions, for example, she anchored from New York.
Meanwhile, TVNewser also hears that “Morning Joe” will be going to Detroit, Michigan next week. The morning program will originate from inside a manufacturing plant in Detroit on Thursday, August 29. Detroit’s bankruptcy and its revitalized auto industry will be the big stories. Experts on the Motor City will appear throughout the show, and share how they think it can make a comeback.
