Shuster Suspended: The Apology & The Comments

The news of the suspension of MSNBC correspondent David Shuster for his "pimped out" comment drew another apology from Shuster moments ago during MSNBC's Tucker, which Shuster was supposed to anchor tonight (Norah O'Donnell is substituting for Tucker Carlson:

ShusterA_2.7.jpg

"...I used a phrase that was inappropriate. And I apologize to the Clinton family, the Clinton campaign and all of you who were justifiably offended...I'm particularly sorry that my language diminished the regard and the respect [Chelsea has] earned from all of us and the respect her parents have earned in how they raised her."

The suspension has also generated many comments from TVNewser readers...Click continued to read some of them.

>Update: Media Matters has the video...

> David Shuster got what he deserved today. He's made many outrageous statements in the past...

> Shame on MSNBC for suspending Shuster. He's a terrific professional and has no reason to apologize to the Clintons or anyone else.

> The "Sympathetic Show of Emotion Committee" within the Clinton campaign found another opportunity to prove how she is the victim.

> It makes you wonder why Shuster was thrown under the bus for his comment, but Chris Matthews was not suspended for his recent comment about Hillary Clinton?

> Suspended for a rare outburst of factual news reporting from the cuckolded media! Perhaps we can obtain more insensitive insights elsewhere.

> I do NOT feel that David should be suspended for this. I bet Bill Clinton had a hand in getting David suspended. They all say things about others all the time but Chelsea gets him suspended??? Won't watch MSNBC anymore because of this. Not fair!!
