NBC’s Lester Holt, ABC’s David Muir and Christiane Amanpour report from Japan; Diane Sawyer en route
The U.S. TV news anchors began arriving in Japan Saturday and two of the weekend anchors were in place for shows Saturday evening: NBC’s Lester Holt and ABC”s David Muir. Christiane Amanpour also arrived Saturday where she reported for “World News,” “Good Morning America” and is hosting “This Week” from Tokyo this morning. ABC’s Diane Sawyer is en route to Japan and will anchor “World News” from Japan tomorrow night.
Holt also co-anchored “Weekend Today” from Tokyo and reported for “Meet the Press” which was hosted by Chuck Todd. As was the case for several recent Sundays, Amanpour has anchored “This Week” from the road while ABC’s Jake Tapper moderates the roundtable and other domestic/political news.
