9:42: FNC projects a D.C. win for Obama and McCain, while MSNBC projects D.C. for McCain as well (they projected it for Obama over 90 minutes ago).

9:40: CNN returns from commercial and does the same.

9:39: FNC and MSNBC take the Obama speech from Wisconsin live.

9:38: It's a former Bush White House member reunion on FNC, as Alan Colmes interviews former Chief of Staff Andy Card.

9:32: Anderson Cooper makes one of his first appearances of the night on CNN.

9:30: Late polls close in Maryland and all three cablers project the state for both McCain and Obama.

9:28: Chris Wallace returns during H&C in anticipation of the delayed Maryland results.

9:22: MSNBC breaks away from the Clinton speech, with Tom Brokaw and Keith Olbermann.

9:16: ...and FNC goes to commercial break. CNN and MSNBC still taking the Clinton speech.

9:14: Fox News breaks into with Sean Hannity and Karl Rove discussing the Democratic primary situation.

9:10: Clinton speaks live from Texas, all the cablers take the speech.

9:07: Alan Colmes asks Karl Rove a question regarding the "two kinds of conservatives." Rove begins his answer with: "I'm not sure I understand that question."

9:04: Tom Brokaw now on MSNBC. He describes speaking to conservatives who say they may vote for Obama if he is the Democratic nominee.

9:03: Hillary Clinton is set to speak on all the cablers from Texas. Hannity and Colmes begins on FNC and they have Rove around for the next hour.

8:55: An emailer catches us up on a quote we missed: "White men can jump." (Andrea Mitchell on CNN MSNBC, describing how more white men are voting for Obama than expected in VA).

8:54: Tim Russert gives some exit polling in Maryland. "I like to give some more ammunition for Pat Buchanan," he said. Awaiting a Clinton speech...

8:44: Jim Vandehei of Politico joins (makes his primary night debut on?) the FNC analyst panel.

8:41: An anonymous tipster, most likely from the Washington, D.C. area, asks: "Why is MSNBC reporting a win in DC for Obama when the local news and radio stations are reporting that the trucks caring the voting results are stuck in the traffic due to the bad weather?"

8:38: "We don't have any results yet," Wallace says about the D.C. primary. CNN isn't calling anything either. And it's been 37 minutes since MSNBC called it for Obama.

8:32: CNN projects it for McCain now. Virginia is done, D.C. and Maryland to go...

8:30: FNC projects McCain the winner less than a minute later. Rove says he thinks the margin will be even bigger.

8:29: MSNBC ahead of the pack again. They call Virginia for McCain.

8:25: Martha MacCallum is deep in the Blogitics of the race on FNC, and mentions the Rendell quote from earlier today.

8:21: Another anonymous tipster makes note of the difference between the board that The Architect was drawing a sketch of the state of Virginia on and John King's favorite toy: "CNN magic wall v. Fox News dinosauric tabulations."

8:17: An anonymous tipster asks: "Where is Brit Hume?"

8:14: Matthews is back on MSNBC, reciting the Gov. Ed Rendell quote from today about whites possibly not voting for Obama in Pennsylvania. MSNBC has been the network focusing the most on that quote tonight.

8:10: Campbell Brown, back on CNN, moderating one of the analyst panels.

8:07: Chris Wallace re-introducing Karl Rove: "All of our competitors have their magic maps and their flying pie charts. Well we have Karl Rove, and we've gone back to the future with a grease board."

8:04: The Architect is on FNC, breaking down the Republican Virginia race. "We need to check and see the pattern of returns. We may have a situation like Missouri," Karl Rove says.

8:01: No exit polls in D.C., but MSNBC declares Obama the D.C. winner.

8:00: Polls close in D.C., and Chris Wallace says, "We're going to have to do it the old fashioned way. We have no exit polls."

7:57: One tipster says it's Potomac Primary tonight: "Potomac. Alliteration all the way, baby."

7:55: It happens on lots of stations, of course, but a viewer can literally watch FNC over Rachel Maddow's left shoulder on MSNBC.

7:53: Gloria Borger says she just got off the phone with the McCain campaign, and discussed Mike Huckabee. "We respect his role in the process but it's not going to prevent us from out planning. It only delays the inevitable," she reported the campaign said.

7:49: Still some audio problems on MSNBC. Now Russert can't hear Olbermann. The problem was fixed after a few seconds.

7:45: As Matthews throws to commercial, he jokes that, because D.C. will close their polls at 8pmET (and not 9:30pmET like Maryland), "someone is shoveling the snow faster."

7:44: CNN now reports that, because of traffic and weather, the polls are open in Maryland until 9:30pmET.

7:41: Will this be a longer night? Maryland extends voting until 9:30pmET, an extra 90 minutes (reported by FNC and MSNBC, but not CNN)

7:40: Phil Keating is in Ohio on FNC from the Election Link truck, live from a bowling alley, talking politics.
