Rachel Maddow Weighs In on Keith Olbermann Suspension

Last night, Rachel Maddow dedicated a segment of her program to addressing the suspension of Keith Olbermann. Maddow began the segment pointing out the donations and endorsements made by hosts on Fox News Channel, as well as noting the many potential Republican presidential candidates that are currently on the FNC payroll.

Finally, she explained the NBC rule that resulted in Olbermann’s suspension:

“I believe everybody should face the same treatment under this rule, I also believe the point has been made and Keith should be back hosting “Countdown.”

She then went on to compare the situation to FNC:

“They run as a political operation, we are not. Yes, Keith is a liberal and so am I, and there are other people on this network whose political opinions are shared with you, our beloved viewers. But we are not a political operation, we are a news operation.”
