Report: Fox News Channel Closing In On Deal to Host 2012 Republican Primary Debate

NBC News was the first network out of the gate last month when it announced it would be hosting a Republican Presidential primary debate next Spring. Now it appears Fox News is the next network to get in on the primary action.

Hal Boedeker in the Orlando Sentinel reports that FNC is the likely to sign a deal with the Florida GOP to host a primary debate in the state in October, 2011.

Yes, the 2012 election is still two years away, but the politically-focused cable networks aren’t going to let that get in the way of the hype. Meanwhile, still no word on when the first Democratic debates are going to held, and which networks will be on board as sponsors.
