The WebNewser Ticker: Watson & OZY, Baier & Bing, ‘Stars’ & Facebook

  • Former MSNBC anchor Carlos Watson‘s new site, OZY.com launches today. And he’s got some heavy hitters behind it, including Laurene Powell Jobs. OZY’s goal is to get ahead of the news, offering “short, thoughtful profiles of ‘the new and the next’ — new people, places, things, trends and ideas,” Watson says.

  • “Special Report with Bret Baier” is extending its partnership with Bing to three nights per week. Here’s how it works: Using Bing Pulse, viewers interact with the panel by ‘voting’ every five seconds on what they are watching.

  • ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” becomes the first entertainment show to tap into live Facebook data. Lost Remote reports that it’s all part of Facebook’s aggressive push into the social TV space. Facebook is also partnering in a similar way with CNN, NBC’s “Today” and Sky TV.
