> FNC was first with the news that Coretta Scott King had died. Fox reported it at 7:03am. MSNBC followed at 7:07 and CNN was last at 7:26am... Update: 12:33pm: "Quit the irresponsible 'who got it first' postings... it's stupid and breeds journalistic irresponsibility," an e-mailer says. "Most news organizations waited because nothing moved on the AP wires to independently confirm what Fox knew and NBC reported through a phoner w/ former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young. Most waited out of respect, and to not once again accidentally kill off a public figure before their actual death." Update: 3:09pm: FNC was first at 7:03 because D.C. correspondent Kelly Wright got independent confirmation from King's own family who provided him with a statement...
