Who Needs MTV When You Have CNN?

Earlier today, Judy McGrath, the CEO of MTV Networks resigned.

No reason was given, but here is a theory: she was mad that Beyonce‘s cover of “God Bless the USA” would not be debuting on the music channel, but on MTV’s arch-rival, CNN.

Yes, on the day that President Obama visits Ground Zero in New York, CNN will premiere the song during “Piers Morgan Tonight.” Proceeds from the cover will go to the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.

Beyonce’s opening act on “Piers Morgan”? Filmmaker Michael Moore, of course.

If you don’t want to wait until the end of Morgan’s show, you can hear Beyonce’s version of “God Bless the USA” here.
