We can't be sure we're remembering this right or if we're just making it up entirely, but we vaguely remember an article we once read that said that, in most major art museums, people spend more time looking at an item in the gift shop than they do an actual piece of art. So this story from droog makes perfect sense. The National Palace Museum in Taipai hired a droog partner to put together new pieces to sell in the gift shop, and so the designer, Gijs Bakker, decided to hold a workshop with thirty other designers about putting together said objects. Thus far, four have been completed, and nine in total will be released. Here's a little about one item that's finished:

Here's how you do it: buy a role of shrinkage stocking with decorative patterns, available in the museum gift shop. Find a nice bottle, get a scissor and cut out a decorative piece that fits the bottle. Hold it and heat it with a hairdryer until it's fixed. You've created an authentic looking bottle. Be proud!

But where do you buy glass bottles anymore? Oh, that's right. After the museum, you go drinking.
