The Naked Truth about Stefan Sagmeister’s Renamed Firm, ‘Sagmeister & Walsh’

In 1999, Stefan Sagmeister made graphic design history with a poster (at right) that featured the details of a speaking gig sliced—by a knife-wielding intern, legend has it—into the designer’s own naked torso. That proved effective, aside from the scarring. The poster, a sensation at the AIGA Detroit event, was hoarded by design fans and later acquired by London’s Design Museum for its permanent collection. The eyebrow-raising image, posted below for your ogling, lays bare the naked truth that the NYC-based firm “will do anything for design.”
