Designing web sites is a passion. As a computer expert, I've given lectures, taught classes, written books, and conducted research, but nothing satisfies my curiosity for technology, arts, and electronic media like web design. Taking a simple concept and turning it into a quality marketing device is my singular goal, and I relish each step in that process. I am expert in using both PHP-based Open Source content management systems, such as Joomla/Mambo, WordPress, OSCommerce, or HTML to build store fronts, brochure-type, and blog sites for non-profit and small-business clients.

I am a reporter who enjoys going off the beaten track and reading evolving events to see a pattern before it becomes recognized as a major social or political change. I relish the chance to explore new territory, and new to find new material in territory that is already under the public eye. I like to travel into areas that do not welcome outsiders and find people to talk to. I am meticulous in my language and accurately reporting dialogue from my interviews. I enjoy the challenge of working through official explanations of situations where social or legal wrongs are endemic, and exposing cover-ups that will stand up in court. I care greatly about using language that is vivid, accurate and original. I believe that I am quick at reading the elements in a turbulent situation and I am not inclined to follow the accepted view. While I can wok fast, I never sacrifice accuracy for speed. I believe I can blend into a new situation and gain confidence of people in an a conflict area. I have enjoyed establish

My goal is to work with words in any capacity, if it be editing, proofing, reshaping, inventing, or deleting. Online or off, I love lifestyle writing – from culture to retail. I can freestyle and riff or I can stay structured and detailed. I’ve freelanced with websites to promote their product and brand through word choice, both precise and creative. I’ve built online newsletters, blogged, and written short stories. I’ve also spent five years working as a product manager for two major ecommerce sites, and learned the intricacies of building a product with a team of designers, developers, sales and clients. I work well with a team but I’m also autonomous; both are necessary for a well-rounded foundation. Over the past two years I focused my efforts on founding and running The Writing Club, a creative writing program for elementary students in San Francisco. I wrote the curriculum, built the lesson plans, and taught more than fifty students over two years.

I freelance as the Bluestone Scribe. My stories, poetry, articles, and miscellany have been published in anthologies, magazines, zines, and blogs. Though I mainly employ myself as an English Instructor and Copy-Editor, my passion is art or really anything that thrusts me into the mysterious expanses of language. I earned my BA in Comparative Literature at George Mason University and my MLitt in Creative Writing at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. I live in scenic upstate New York and take daily hikes into the woods with my wee family.
