Description

The Department of Writing Studies and Rhetoric at Hofstra University, Long Island, is seeking to fill anticipated part-time adjunct teaching positions. The position involves teaching the first- and/or second-semester writing courses (WSC 001 or WSC 002) in the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences during the fall 2025 semester. There may also be opportunities to teach professional business writing and public speaking.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in composition, English, creative writing, or a similar field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching composition at the college level is strongly preferred.

Salary/Salary Range

$1,458-$1,585

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
