This position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure, requiring admission to the University's M.Ed, M.S. of Learning and Talent Development, or M.B.A. programs.
This candidate will have frequent contact with prospective students and their families, high school teachers and administrators, members of Omaha, Lincoln, and Fremont's Arts Community, Midland University students, as well as the University faculty and staff, specifically the Director of Instrumental Music.
Job responsibilities include:
- Develop relationships with area high school teachers and leaders of student groups.
- Assist with keeping the Admissions database accurate and up to date with prospective student information.
- Assist with, and on occasion lead, recruiting efforts for the Vocal program and the performing arts as a whole. This includes communicating with prospective students, updating recruitment tracking information, attending campus visits, logging awarding information, and assisting with various recruitment duties as requested by the Director of Vocal Music, Associate Professors of Music, or Assistant Director of Performing Arts, maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
- Manage social media for the Vocal department and Performing Arts as directed by the Director of Vocal Music or Assistant Director of Performing Arts, by creating relevant posts, graphics, photos, videos, and other media.
- Assist with planning and executing on-campus and off-campus events that host prospective students.
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts staff and faculty to support and encourage current students.
- Intermittently conduct rehearsals and performances for choral ensembles.
- Perform with choral ensembles as required.
- Strive to build and maintain an environment of integrity, trust, and transparency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
- A bachelor's degree and relevant experience in the performing arts.
Preferred qualities:
- A positive attitude.
- An ability to resolve issues independently.
Compensation:
