Position Summary
The Department of Journalism and Media Production at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. For more information about the department, visit: https://www.msudenver.edu/journalism-media-production/.

Responsibilities
Teach 3-9 credit hours in courses such as Broadcast Journalism, Journalism, or Public Relations at the 1000-level or above, including courses like Introduction to Journalism and Mass Media, Journalism Fundamentals, Reporting, Fundamentals of Public Relations, Beginning Photojournalism, and Layout and Design.
Be available for consultation with students.
Affiliate faculty duties include teaching assigned classes in person or online, preparing course materials, grading, providing feedback, addressing student questions, maintaining office hours, and complying with university policies. Ability to adapt to different teaching modalities and sensitivity to diverse student needs are highly encouraged.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field, plus at least six years of professional, full-time experience in journalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Journalism or a related field plus six years of professional experience, or a Doctorate in Journalism or a related field.
Terms of Employment
Part-time, at-will employment on a per credit hour basis, usually semester-by-semester. Not eligible for university benefits. Teaching may be in person, online, or hybrid, depending on course needs. Candidates must be able to teach in person upon hire.
Salary
