KSBW 8 (NBC) / Central Coast ABC / Estrella TV Costa Central, part of Hearst Television, has an opening for a strong, take-charge Producer who knows how to create memorable newscasts. The right candidate will have a track record of being creative, aggressive, and capable of making decisions and communicating plans clearly and concisely. We expect excellent news judgment and a can-do attitude. Candidates must have a proven record of winning big stories, breaking news, and weather coverage. They must be quick and calm under pressure and able to collaborate effectively with a team of like-minded professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to create an engaging viewer experience.
- Guide and collaborate with reporters during story production.
- Coordinate and communicate the creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
- Attendance in person is required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of producing experience.
- Creative presentation style.
- Experience in a newsroom, ability to remain calm under pressure, and knowledge of ENPS are advantageous.
- Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong skills in summarizing information into clear, understandable segments.
- Creative presentation style with the ability to utilize all available resources and elements.
- Uphold journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
- Flexibility to work holidays, nights, weekends, overnights, and during breaking news.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Relevant experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience, will be considered.
- Military training and experience are valued and will be considered.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $50,000 to $57,000. The actual offer will depend on skills, experience, market conditions, location, and other factors. The salary range is subject to change.
