Editorial & Communications Director
will ideally have 6-10 years of experience in editorial management or communications and a passion for storytelling. This high-visibility role liaises internally with senior editorial colleagues around the organization as well as the broader communications team. Externally, you will identify and surface content for potential publicity in non-Hearst media. Your knowledge, skills and experience include: Proven track record of successful editorial and/or communications, marketing and public relations campaigns. Strong storytelling ability across channels Ability to identify engaging content that can be shared across media platforms and brands. Ability to react to breaking news with innovative ideas that deliver positive results. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a relationship builder who can move projects forward across divisions. Confidence while juggling multiple projects and priorities. Thorough and resourceful with excellent organizational skills and follow-through, attention to detail in all things. Good judgement and high standards. Ability to identify constructive solutions when issues arise. Understanding of Hearst businesses, values and culture and a collaborative spirit. Experience with analytical tools and content management systems. Excellent writing, proof-reading and editing skills. In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $145,000 - $160,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
