Design Manager Overview
Haskell's Design & Consulting Team unites architecture, engineering, and consulting professionals from across industries and geographies. Our diverse team serves markets including food and beverage, aviation, healthcare, and government projects. As a team member, you'll work on impactful projects that challenge your creativity and expand your skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Application of Knowledge: Directs all aspects of the design effort, ensures conformance with project criteria, and coordinates among disciplines.
Client Management: Acts as primary client interface, manages client criteria, maintains relationships, and develops future opportunities.
Construction Support: Monitors design responses, assists in prioritizing responses, and supervises installations when assigned.
Change Management: Manages scope changes and documents all scope modifications.
Financial: Develops budgets, monitors financial performance, manages outside consultants, and tracks project cash flow.
Scheduling: Coordinates staff allocation, develops design schedules, and ensures schedule compliance.
Strategy: Participates in proposal strategies, marketing, and innovation in design delivery.
Leadership: Supervises personnel, maintains communication, ensures contractual requirements, and participates in corporate policies and project closeout.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
10+ years in a design discipline, with at least 5 years as a lead designer and 3 years in design management
Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications:
Professional registration or eligibility
Client and change management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software
Budgeting and forecasting skills
Leadership and negotiation skills
Project management experience, PMP preferred

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to visit locations, stand, walk, lift 10-50 pounds, and operate equipment with good hand-eye coordination.
