Position Description: We are seeking a Video Productions Operations Coordinator to ensure the smooth production of city government meetings. The primary responsibilities include technical coordination and production of broadcasts, recordings, in-person, and virtual City government meetings. The role also involves providing AV technical support and training, supporting live remote and hybrid broadcasts for various government meetings, and ensuring effective communication and transparency for internal and external audiences.
Work Location: This position is based full-time in Minneapolis City Hall, with potential remote work during non-meeting days. The schedule will be coordinated with your supervisor. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor work visas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce City government meetings, including pre-production setup, assisting staff and public, live switching, audio mixing, streaming, and post-production activities.
- Coordinate with City Clerk, Council members, and staff to ensure meeting consistency.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to meeting broadcasts.
- Research AV meeting technology and create standard operating procedures.
- Maintain AV equipment and establish high standards of audio/video production.
- Assist Communications staff with projects, including recording and editing professional videos for City departments.
Working Conditions
Flexible schedule based on meeting times, primarily on-site work with some remote options, and physical tasks such as climbing ladders and troubleshooting equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Selection Process
Includes evaluation of education and experience, and possibly an oral examination. Candidates must attain a passing score of 70% on each step.

- Continuous learning of new skills, including video standards and graphic design.
