Outside Employee Benefits sales position. Responsible for driving business sales, retention, and growing existing client revenue. Manage client relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth.

Responsibilities :

  1. Achieve annualized new business sales of $200k in our target market of companies with 200-2,000 employees. Retain at least 92% of business year over year with support from leadership and account management staff.
  2. Meet new business activity and appointment quality goals.
  3. Research prospects using USI resources and develop tailored messaging.
  4. Understand and communicate USI’s competitive advantages to clients and prospects.
  5. Develop sales plans and employ effective prospecting strategies.
  6. Innovate solutions for clients using market knowledge and technical insurance expertise.
  7. Participate in national and regional meetings and video calls.
  8. Prepare for client meetings focusing on appointment setting, closing, and retention.
  9. Utilize USI’s contact management and sales tools for process support and accurate data entry.
  10. Engage in industry training and sales support programs.
  11. Identify cross-selling opportunities to strengthen client relationships.
  12. Collaborate with account management on significant client services.
  13. Maintain strong knowledge of USI competitors.
  14. Represent USI positively at meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  1. Over 3 years of successful sales experience in an insurance brokerage.
  2. Life and Health insurance license required.
  3. Deep knowledge of Employee Benefits.
  4. Personable, motivated, goal-oriented, with a drive to meet sales targets.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  6. Strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
  7. Resourceful, positive, and consultative approach to client engagement.
  8. Recognized within the HR and benefits community.
  9. Excellent listening skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  10. Ability to engage with senior management and maintain an executive presence.

The role involves operating office equipment, driving, walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.

Analysis of Physical Demands :

  1. Constantly (over 66%) driving to client appointments, walking on uneven surfaces, reaching, and bending.
  2. Frequently (34-66%) handling objects, walking, standing, bending, and repetitive hand motions like typing.
