This position involves working closely with the Texas Department of Public Safety to develop and maintain user and technical documentation, as well as project process documentation for Information Technology Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise on technical concepts of applications and user groups, structuring procedures logically.
- Write technical articles, reports, brochures, and manuals for various documentation needs.
- Coordinate the display of graphics and document production.
- Perform advanced technical writing, including organizing and editing compiled information.
- Independently perform complex technical writing tasks and prepare materials for speeches and presentations.
- Document the environment, policies, procedures, and plans of the IT Division.
- Develop and implement customer-centric metrics and reporting.
- Support performance, quality, and process improvement efforts through data analysis and visualization.
- Analyze data and engage in evaluative thinking, involving stakeholders and using data to support staff, programs, and operations.
Minimum Requirements
- 8 years of experience in composing, reviewing, and editing technical documents, policy manuals, and reports.
- 8 years of experience researching and developing technical and policy information.
- Ability to consult with technical staff on documentation development.
- 6 years of experience preparing responses to various information requests.
- Experience presenting updates and reports to upper management and C-level stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technology writing within the public sector.
- Knowledge of IT policies and procedures.
