DOOR International is a global Christian non-profit who wants to see Jesus transform every Deaf person and community through a relationship with Him. To that end, our mission is to grow and equip Deaf leaders worldwide in evangelism, discipleship, sign language Bible translation, and scripture engagement.
We are seeking a creative and driven Social Media Coordinator to strengthen our digital presence, engage Deaf and hearing audiences, and bring our mission to life. This role supports the organization in creating and distributing impactful video and graphic content across social media, email, and our website.
The ideal candidate excels in both collaboration and independent work, from concept to completion, blending creativity, technical expertise, and purpose-driven storytelling for diverse audiences.This role is primarily responsible for engaging external and internal stakeholders to communicate DOOR's mission and vision by distributing visual elements that support written content and engaging our audiences on all of DOOR's digital platforms.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manage all tasks related to social media postings, field report design, corporate publications and announcements, audience engagement reporting, and other items as needed, in coordination with Communications needs
- Maintain and update website -- adding, removing, and updating content with current promotions, events, or company milestones; create graphic elements and design layouts for web pages, including icon and button design
- Develop social media graphics to go with copy from communications staff and post 3 times a week (at a minimum)
- Develop brief, engaging video content such as reels for social media and marketing purpose
- Draw conclusions and insights from statistics and data from social media, website, and other platforms; share with Communications and Development colleagues to inform strategy
- Communicate with International Communications Manager and Development team members to determine content requirements and needs
- Manage the collection, storage, and organization of images and video from the field in DOOR’s database or other appropriate storage medium
- Provide photos to Communications and Development staff
- Work with Communications Manager to improve internal communications by developing graphics/visuals to support text/video content
- Stay on-brand and track marketing strategies as implemented by Communications and Development staff
- Develop and manage brand guidelines and standards
- Research, explore, and experiment with new ideas
- Optimize web content for both computer and mobile
- Support DOOR’s communications and marketing goals in other ways as needed and as assigned
- Travel nationally and internationally, potentially up to 20% of the time
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Media, Graphic Design, or related field (or Associate’s degree plus equivalent experience)
- Experience with working in WordPress
- Experience with creating social media posts, managing a content calendar, and strategizing around current trends related to social media, SEO, and other marketing tools
- 0-3 years of experience
Skills and abilities:
- Commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to the global Christian community, and agreement with DOOR International’s Statement of Faith (https://doorinternational.org/who-we-are).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software such as Camtasia, Premiere Pro, or other
- Proficiency in English
- Strong visual design abilities, demonstrated by a portfolio or reel
- Emotional intelligence and maturity, allowing one to build relationships, communicate, and collaborate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
- Mature conflict resolution skills, allowing one to solve issues in a positive manner, find effective solutions, and know when to seek assistance
- Ability to work independently in an efficient, effective manner with minimal supervision
- Strong time management and organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with attention to detail
- Active passport and ability to travel nationally and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in sign language (or if not, willingness and ability to learn)
- Profound understanding of the lived experience of Deaf individuals and communities
- Experience engaging with underserved and international communities
