Job Description

• Drive animation performance while maintaining a believable and realistic style; your hand-keyed work should seamlessly integrate with motion capture.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to create expressive characters that work with player control and AI.
• Design hand-keyed animations with a strong understanding of body mechanics, force, balance, timing, and believability.
• Utilize motion capture, video references, and thumbnail sketches in your workflow.
• Prototype gameplay through quick blocking of animations; refine and polish animations as ideas are validated.
• Provide constructive feedback to team members and remain receptive to critique.
• Create multiplayer characters and AI that deliver believable and memorable performances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in game development with at least 2 shipped titles.
• Experience or interest in PC multiplayer games.
• Proficiency with in-game animation and Maya.
• College/University Degree in Character Animation or a related field.
• Deep understanding of camera work, layout, and staging.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Major Plus:

• Exceptional hand-keyed facial animation skills.
• Experience with MotionBuilder and Unreal Engine.
• Experience with first-person animations.
• Strong knowledge of cinematography, editing, and story development.
• Experience creating state machines and controller schemes.
