Job Description Drive animation performance while maintaining a believable and realistic style; your hand-keyed work should seamlessly integrate with motion capture. Collaborate with designers and engineers to create expressive characters that work with player control and AI. Design hand-keyed animations with a strong understanding of body mechanics, force, balance, timing, and believability. Utilize motion capture, video references, and thumbnail sketches in your workflow. Prototype gameplay through quick blocking of animations; refine and polish animations as ideas are validated. Provide constructive feedback to team members and remain receptive to critique. Create multiplayer characters and AI that deliver believable and memorable performances. Qualifications 5+ years in game development with at least 2 shipped titles. Experience or interest in PC multiplayer games. Proficiency with in-game animation and Maya. College/University Degree in Character Animation or a related field. Deep understanding of camera work, layout, and staging. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Major Plus: Exceptional hand-keyed facial animation skills. Experience with MotionBuilder and Unreal Engine. Experience with first-person animations. Strong knowledge of cinematography, editing, and story development. Experience creating state machines and controller schemes.
