The College of Science and Humanities is seeking adjunct instructors to teach FA 135 Piano and Keyboard Basics and FA 203 Sounds like Music in the Fall 2023 semester. This is an on-campus position.
Examples of Duties:
- Teaching college-level courses in piano, keyboard, or music appreciation, including tasks such as adapting syllabi, creating course outcomes, assessments, lectures, activities, readings, and assignments, as well as grading and communicating with students and faculty as needed.
- Meeting or communicating with the Chair or Dean as required.
- Using Husson University’s Canvas system, faculty portal, and campus email for course management and communication.
- Applying relevant Husson Academic Policies and standards.
Typical Qualifications:
A completed Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field is required. A successful record of teaching college music courses is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of a broad range of music disciplines, instruments, audio technology, and genres, including contemporary styles like rock, rap, hip hop, R&B, and electronica.
- Ability to relate to students of diverse backgrounds, broaden their musical horizons, and challenge them academically and creatively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty to enhance the arts presence at Husson University.
Compensation:
Rates vary depending on qualifications, course level, and enrollment, with specific maximums listed for undergraduate, graduate, and lab courses.
