Responsibilities

• Division 00, 01, and Architectural specifications, and coordinating project specifications for other disciplines to ensure alignment with design documents and industry standards.
• Develop, write, and maintain project specifications for architectural drawings and design documents.
• Review and interpret architectural drawings to ensure specifications reflect design intent and comply with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of specifications into project documentation.
• Use SpecLink Cloud to create and manage specification content efficiently.
• Stay current on building codes, industry standards, and materials to ensure accuracy and best practices.
• Support QA/QC efforts to maintain consistency, clarity, and compliance in all specifications.
• Assist in the selection of materials, finishes, and products aligned with sustainability goals.
• Review and edit specifications prepared by others for consistency and completeness.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers to stay informed on product innovations.
• Provide technical support during construction, including submittal reviews and contractor inquiries related to specifications.
  
  

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience as a Specifications Writer in an architectural or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, materials, and applicable building codes.
• Skilled in producing accurate, well-coordinated, and detail-rich specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a collaborative team setting.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Licensed Architect preferred.
• CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) certification preferred.
• Experience with SpecLink Cloud is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED processes is a plus.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
