Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. The Department of Studio and Digital Arts invites applications for a Residential Adjunct Faculty position in Graphic Design. We are seeking a dynamic and professionally engaged designer to join our team of dedicated educators.

General Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in graphic design, including foundational and advanced topics
  • Provide students with instruction rooted in professional practice and creative exploration
  • Support student learning through thoughtful critique and mentorship

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated professional experience in the design industry
  • Demonstrated teaching skills with pedagogical excellence
  • A strong portfolio showcasing contemporary, industry-relevant work
  • A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, to convey clear, well-articulated information, with the ability to understand, speak, and write in English professionally
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with intuitive reasoning and the ability to analyze information/events while applying accurate judgment to solve problems that are both routine and complex
  • Flexibility in a swiftly changing environment
  • Takes initiative while actively seeking opportunities to develop within a collaborative team environment
  • Operate learning management software and other technological tools utilized to facilitate content creation, communication, and planning, including industry-standard software (Adobe in a Mac environment)
  • Embrace and foster Liberty University's mission and strictly adhere to policies, representing the university in an exemplary manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Proficiency in both print and digital design
  • Familiarity with current design tools, practices, and trends

This job description is designed to provide a basic understanding of the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities entailed in the performance of the job as a residential adjunct faculty member in the Studio and Digital Arts Department at Liberty University (LU).
