Phoenix Systems is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Audio/Video installation technician to join our team in South Carolina. This position reports to the Charleston, SC office and supports business in Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Charleston, and surrounding areas.

Candidates must reside in Bluffton/Hilton Head or between Charleston and these areas.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, personable, and have a passion for designing and installing residential smart home automation, home theaters, security, networking, shades, and providing excellent service to high-end clients.

Anticipated start date: July 21, 2025.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, speakers, TV mounts, shades, and remote controls.
  2. Identify and repair security system malfunctions and false alarms.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair wiring for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAPs, Cameras, etc.
  4. Learn and understand Phoenix Systems' security systems (e.g., 2Gig, DSC, QOLSYS).
  5. Handle installation of networking equipment such as routers, switches, DVRs, and WAPs.
  6. Understand monitoring protocols with Phoenix, monitoring stations, and responders.
  7. Communicate with customers to review work orders.
  8. Provide instruction and training to customers on system functions.
  9. Assess system design and functionality when adding components.
  10. Handle after-hours emergency service calls on a rotation basis.
  11. Communicate pricing for monitoring services.
  12. Install, set up, and train homeowners on AV packages.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with security and A/V installations, from pre-wire to final programming.
  • Knowledge of security system operations, wiring, and functions.
  • Understanding of cable types and installation scenarios.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work neatly and independently.
  • Own or be willing to acquire basic tools.
  • Ability to clear background check and drug screening.
  • Clear MVR required.
  • Technical or vocational schooling is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
  • Use of step and extension ladders.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:

  • Active construction sites.
  • Exposure to temperature, humidity, dust, and moderate noise.
