Description and Requirements

General Description:

Outside Commercial Lines sales position responsible for driving business sales, retention, and growing existing client revenue. Manage client relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annualized new business sales of $175k in target markets of companies with at least $10mm in sales within specific industries.
  • Work with Practice Leader to declare a primary industry specialization (vertical), and possibly a secondary vertical aligned with the primary.
  • Retain at least 92% of business year over year with leadership and account management support.
  • Meet new business activity and appointment quality goals.
  • Use USI resources to research prospects and develop tailored messaging.
  • Explain USI’s competitive advantages to clients and prospects.
  • Develop sales plans and prospecting strategies.
  • Innovate using market knowledge and technical insurance expertise.
  • Participate in industry meetings and video calls.
  • Prepare for client meetings, and support business closing and retention.
  • Utilize USI’s sales tools for effective process management and accurate data entry.
  • Engage in industry training and sales programs.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to strengthen client relationships.
  • Collaborate with account management on client services.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of competitors.
  • Represent USI positively at events and seminars.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Over 3 years of successful sales experience in insurance brokerage.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Property & Casualty insurance license required.
  • Strong P&C insurance knowledge.
  • Personable, motivated, goal-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Organized with good follow-up skills.
  • Consultative, positive, resourceful approach.
  • Excellent listening skills with customer focus.
  • Ability to interact with senior management and demonstrate executive presence.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $120,000 - $250,000
