Most Holy Trinity Catholic Academy (MHTCA) is a faith-filled, mission-driven K–8 school located in the heart of Detroit. Our dedicated staff works together to provide a nurturing and academically rigorous environment rooted in Catholic values. We are currently seeking a dynamic and committed Part-Time Specials Teachers to teach Physical Education or Music or Art, or Technology.
Position Summary:
The Specials Teacher will work with K–8 students to deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction in a(n) Physical Education or Music or Art, or Technology class. This individual will be responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning while upholding the mission and values of MHTCA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, including grades and attendance
- Provide timely responses to school communications, including emails
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills that promote a positive and structured learning environment
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Organize and participate in school-wide events as requested by the principal
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support the overall success of students
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and Catholic values
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Michigan Teacher Certification (or currently enrolled in a certification program or on a pathway to certification)
- Prior teaching experience in a K–8 setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success
- Ability to integrate Catholic values into instruction and interactions
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule based on the school's specials rotation. Compensation is based on the Shared Time Teacher Salary Schedule.
