Responsibilities

  • Assist stylists and work with them in developing your skills with clients and knowledge of the salon and services.
  • Greet guests with professional and friendly greetings. Use eye contact and smile.
  • Walk guests back and make them feel comfortable. Offer to put away their belongings.
  • Engage the guests in a head, neck and shoulders massage and possibly hand massages.
  • Arrive 15 min before the first scheduled client to prep for the day.
  • Preview and troubleshoot the book/schedule before the start of the day.
  • Make sure stations and color tables are clean for guests.
  • Assist the stylists in making notes for their clients on the tickets.
  • Mixing color and prepping color trays for the stylist.
  • Engage and educate the guests on the process of their service (i.e. products, styling, etc)
  • Review the day’s opportunities and learning/development that took place.
  • Always be conscious of your attitude and tone when engaging with guests and co-workers.
  • Attend classes and training in which you will further develop your knowledge on SRT and shampooing, thermal/iron work, color placement, color theory, haircutting, foil placement, updos/styling and more.
  • Bring in models to showcase your knowledge and understanding of what has been taught in class.

Requirements

  • Licensed cosmetologist in the state of Texas or graduated from cosmetology school and waiting for State Board Exam
  • Able to work full time (40hrs/wk)
  • Can handle work in a fast paced environment
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and is open to coaching in the moment
  • Can supply your own tools for classes and education as well as working on the floor.
  • Can keep a timely schedule and arrive prepared for the day.
