Base pay range
$175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Are you a natural storyteller with a sharp creative instinct and a deep passion for experiences that move people? We’re looking for a Sr. Creative Director who brings big ideas to life and knows how to keep them grounded in strategy, logistics, and budget.
This role will lead high-value brand pitches and drive the end-to-end creative process, from early insights and concepting through to pitch and execution. You’ll lead creative at SoHo Experiential, guiding the development of immersive brand experiences that seamlessly merge physical and digital, pushing ideas in bold, unexpected directions while collaborating across teams to bring them to life.
This is a freelance position with potential for a full-time role.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the creative development process for a range of experiential programs, owning concept development, storytelling, and creative direction.
- Translate client needs and strategic objectives into 360° campaign concepts that drive culture and deliver results.
- Craft compelling narratives and bring work to life through persuasive pitch materials and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: strategy, production, accounts, to align creative vision with practical execution.
- Mentor and guide creative team while also being a hands-on contributor when needed.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative innovation, especially as it applies to immersive brand experiences and digital integrations.
- Balance big-picture thinking with production feasibility and budget constraints, understanding that the best ideas work both on paper and in the real world.
- Concept Development: Ability to craft compelling 360° brand experiences grounded in insight, culture, and storytelling.
- Experiential Storytelling: Deep understanding of how to tell stories through space, interactivity, and sensory engagement.
- Campaign Integration: Translate big ideas into cross-channel campaigns including live, digital, social, AR, and content extensions.
- Art Direction & Design Oversight: Lead visual direction, mood boards, environmental and spatial design with a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Copy and Messaging Strategy: Craft compelling narratives, taglines, and experience flows that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Minimum 8 years+ of creative agency or brand-side experience, with at least 3 years leading creative teams.
- A hybrid creative background in both art direction and copywriting, with a strong portfolio showcasing experiential work.
- Proven experience pitching and winning new business.
- A ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude. You’re comfortable jumping into projects of any size and shape.
- Clear communication, strong organization, and the ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Passion for culture, music, tech, and the world around you with a sense of humor and perspective that keeps things grounded.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Keynote
- Bonus if you know Premiere, Final Cut, or 3D rendering software
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams
- Understanding of digital, social, and virtual platforms in experiential work
