As a Telecommunications Operator, you will operate radio, telephone, and computer equipment to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls. You'll be the first point of contact for individuals in need, relaying vital information to law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel. Your work directly contributes to the safety and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and process 911 emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch police, fire, public works, and emergency response personnel as needed.
• Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems to log service calls.
• Monitor security cameras and access systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by interfacing with the public and other agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Process driver's license and automobile tag histories for officers.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of related experience or training.
• Possession or ability to earn certification from the Texas Department of Public Safety in TCIC/NCIC operations within six months of employment.
• License or the ability to be licensed as a Basic Telecommunications Operator by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
• Valid Texas driver's license.
