Our Space team in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Design Drafter to join their dynamic team. You will report directly to the Drafting Supervisor and work in an onsite, collaborative environment.
As our Design Drafter, your responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with all functional disciplines to discuss design, drawing, or fabrication requirements.
- Leading the graphical evolution of new products from layout to drawings, ensuring correctness of proportion, internal component arrangement, dimensional information, and material or process suggestions.
- Producing final drawings or 3D/Solid models independently or collaboratively.
- Utilizing CAD systems to produce drawings and layouts for visualization, clearance checks, and manufacturing information.
- Supporting Engineering, Sales, and Program Management with layouts and assemblies for bids and proposals.
- Organizing and planning the number and types of drawings required, checking for completeness and accuracy, and overseeing drafting personnel when assigned.
- Coordinating projects, participating in status review meetings, and providing effort estimates.
Qualifications:
- Associates in Mechanical Technology or relevant major is required.
- 8+ years of drafting/design experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of drafting practices, machine shop practices, part fabrication, mathematics, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter PLM preferred.
- Creative, investigative, well-structured, and organized design skills.
- Basic properties and strength of materials, stress, and thermal effects knowledge.
- Understanding of mechanical hardware design and packaging within customer-defined envelopes.

Salary Range: Buffalo, NY $60,000.00–$95,000.00 annually
