Job Description & Responsibilities Persistent Systems LLC, a leading defense tech company providing mobile networking solutions for military, first responder, government and commercial markets is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Video Production Manager to oversee and execute professional multimedia projects across a variety of platforms. This individual will lead the planning, filming, and editing of high-impact video and photography content both in-studio and in the field — including tactical military environments. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments and understands both the language of defense and the craft of visual storytelling.

Position Responsibilities Content Creation & Execution

Produce, film, and edit high‑quality video and photo content for digital platforms, including YouTube, Instagram (Reels, Stories), and long‑form web or product videos

Plans and manages full production cycles — logistic coordination, pre‑production, shoot, post‑production

Manage the in‑house studio including lighting, audio, and set design

Lead on‑location shoots in military field settings, including documenting tactical exercises and soldier‑focused use cases – directs on‑set crews and creative direction to talent, SMEs and camera ops

Provide post‑production editing for raw footage from other PS creators, company events and trade shows

Manage development of animation and AI video generation

Project & Team Management

Oversee a content calendar and ensure weekly video output in alignment with marketing and strategic goals

Manage a direct report (Video Producer), providing creative direction, feedback, and support for editing workflows

Coordinate schedules, shot lists, and approvals across departments and external collaborators

Technical & Operational Leadership

Operate and maintain high‑end DSLR and mirrorless cameras, gimbals, and audio recording equipment

Ensure studio readiness and manage lighting, sound, and green screen environments

Archive and organize assets for reuse and historical documentation

Job Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications Production Experience

3–5 years of professional video production experience, preferably in a fast‑paced or technical environment

Experience in shooting both in controlled studio and field‑based/military settings

Strong editing and post‑production skills including motion graphics, animation and color correction

Military/Defense Content Familiarity

Direct military or tactical content creation experience highly preferred

Understands tactical communication as well as equipment and usage scenarios

Ability to film in field environments and understand OPSEC, DoD compliance, and tactical terminology

Software Proficiency

Required: Adobe Premiere Pro (expert level), Adobe After Effects (intermediate+), Adobe Audition, Adobe Media Encoder

Preferred: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, DaVinci Resolve, Frame.io or similar platforms

Preferred: Understanding of advanced cloud‑based AI tools, such as Veo 3, Synthesia and Sora

Hardware Proficiency

Experience with high‑end DSLR/mirrorless cameras (e.g., Canon EOS R5, Sony A7S III, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema)

Proficiency with studio lighting (e.g., Aputure, Godox) and field audio (e.g., Rode, Sennheiser, Zoom H6)

Drone operation or FAA Part 107 certification a plus

Soft Skills

Strong creative vision with the ability to tell compelling stories through visual media

Gives and receives feedback with clarity and confidence

Ability to create authentic military tactical content – visually resonates with military and tactical users

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under tight deadlines

Willingness to travel for field shoots (10–20% travel)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in film production, media arts, communications, or related field

Military background or embedded media/journalist experience

Familiarity with YouTube Studio, Instagram content strategy, and video SEO

Experience working in or adjacent to defense or government contracting sectors

Work Conditions

Full‑time, in‑office position based in New York City

Standard business hours, with occasional evening/weekend work for shoots or travel

Frequent hands‑on studio work and occasional domestic travel for field shoots

Physical ability to lift and transport production equipment as needed

The base pay for this role can vary from $128,000 to $182,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
