Piedmont Media is hiring: multimedia advertising sales representative in Warrent

Piedmont Media, a nonprofit news organization in Northern Virginia, is seeking a talented and competitive inside multimedia advertising sales representative with potential for growth into outside sales.

Located less than an hour from Washington, D.C., Piedmont Media operates two print newspapers and digital news sites serving Fauquier and Prince William counties. The organization has consistently produced award-winning journalism and is financially stable with strong philanthropic support.

We aim to transform our advertising sales to be digital-first. This role offers an opportunity to work with our team and customers to develop new sales products that better connect our audience with relevant products and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in this effort.

Responsibilities include:

1. Retain existing accounts and consistently acquire new clients.
2. Build strong relationships with clients to understand their advertising and marketing needs.
3. Learn and confidently pitch our print and digital products.
4. Execute campaigns effectively from initial contact through post-sale follow-up.
5. Develop and communicate strategic sales plans.
6. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales and revenue targets.
7. Maintain and expand the prospect database.
8. Collaborate effectively with internal teams.

The right candidate will have:

• Experience in account management and business development.
• A proven track record of building and strengthening client relationships.
• Knowledge of the digital and print media environment, with adaptability to market trends.
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• Team-oriented attitude and supportive demeanor.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for client meetings.
• Comfort with using a CRM system.

About the role:

Salary: This full-time position offers a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year, plus commissions, depending on experience. The ideal candidate has 1-5 years of sales experience.
