A Court Reporter perform senior professional level duties on a day-to-day basis to achieve the short- and long- term goals of the work group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documents, maintains, and preserves required records and statistics as it pertains to departmental operations.
• Ensures compliance with any or all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations; policies and may update staff or work group on applicable changes.
• Recommends and/or develops departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains and updates files.
• Manages special projects as directed.
• Stenographically records testimony of all court proceedings as requested by attorney(s) and/or the Court.
• Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s degree + three (3) full-time years of related work experience. -OR-
• High School Diploma or GED + five (5) full-time years of related work experience.
• Must have and maintain a current certification by the State of Texas as a certified shorthand reporter (CSR). A CSR License is issued by the Texas Supreme Court upon completion of Court Reporting School and testing by the Texas Court Reporters Certification Board.
