Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Research and Writing Attorney to join a client in California. In this role, you will focus on conducting in-depth legal research, drafting comprehensive legal documents, and providing strategic support in various personal injury, employment law, and civil litigation cases. This position is ideal for a meticulous legal expert who excels in analyzing complex issues and crafting sound legal arguments.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations to support litigation efforts.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and ensure alignment with legal objectives.
• Analyze discovery materials and summarize key findings to aid in case preparation.
• Stay informed about legal trends, rulings, and updates that may impact ongoing or future cases.
• Prepare client deliverables, such as demand letters and settlement packages, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
• Utilize legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather and interpret relevant information.
• Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen legal positions and arguments.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.• Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility for reciprocity.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in legal research and writing, ideally in litigation.
• Proficiency in legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Strong drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal issues effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in plaintiff-side litigation or civil litigation is preferred but not mandatory.
