Position Summary Information
Objective
Assist the Vocal Music Department with various tasks relating to its execution. This position reports to the Choir Director and, if needed, Director of Vocal Studies.
1. Maintain and organize the choral library including filing music, adding music to the filing system, and maintaining music and items in proper order.
2. Administer the online record of the choir library.
3. Office work as assigned
4. Assist the Choir Director in the organization and administration of the annual music contests, held in February and March.
5. Oversee fellow students in stage setups and tear downs.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
2. Must be enrolled in at least one of the choral ensembles (Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Women’s Choir)
3. Must be federal work study eligible.
4. Must be a full-time student at Blinn (this includes all campuses and internet courses).
Preferred Experience and Training
Prefer students with a choral background.
1. Experience organizing a choral library.
2. Some knowledge of choral music is helpful; specifically identifying titles of pieces.
3. Knowledge of setting up risers.
4. Ability to direct others in a team setting.
Required Degree, License or Certifications
Physical Requirements
Lifting of up to 15 lbs.
