Position: Full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in Photography.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory and upper-level Photography courses such as 35mm photography, darkroom processing, digital photography, studio photography, and digital photo editing and printing techniques. The role also covers courses in the history of photography, medium and large format photography, and visual literacy, with opportunities for summer, winter, online, or evening courses.
The successful candidate should have an active record as a practicing professional artist, a fresh pedagogical perspective, and the ability to teach both artistic and technical skills necessary for a professional career in photography. A MFA or other terminal degree in Photography or related fields with teaching experience is required.
Supervision is received from the Department Chair of Communications Media.
Key duties include teaching workload (8 courses/24 semester hours per year), curriculum development, student advising, managing technical resources in the Photography Lab, participating in curriculum review and departmental committees, and attending university functions.
Position details: Full-time, 9-month benefited MSCA position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, with opportunities to teach additional courses in summer, winter, online, and graduate levels.
