Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Music is seeking trained accompanists. Responsibilities include assisting with the Voice masterclass, accompanying voice students during applied lessons, auditions, juries, and supporting choir performances. The Voice masterclass meets Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:20 PM.

Accompanists are expected to be thoughtful, proactive members of the Music community, willing to work with students from diverse backgrounds in a collaborative, welcoming, and learning-centered environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative piano support during private lessons, studio classes, choir performances, and recitals. Participate in end-of-semester juries as needed.
- Assist with performance auditions for prospective music majors and support recruitment efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of experience playing for music courses at the collegiate, professional, or pre-professional level, or equivalent training/education.
- Strong oral presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a respectful, professional, and inclusive environment with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in collaborative piano or piano performance.
- Experience accompanying applied lessons at various levels.
Salary Range: $50/hr
